frequently asked

Allergen Questions.

Do you have a separate fryer for gluten‑free items?

No. Our fryer is shared between gluten‑containing items (samosa, vada pav bun, wraps) and gluten‑free items (fries, mazala fries, vada). If you have coeliac disease, please let us know and we’ll pan‑fry or grill where possible.

Are your dosas really gluten‑free?

Yes — classic, mazala, paneer and kari dosas are all naturally gluten‑free (made from fermented rice & lentil batter). The exception is Rava Dosa, which uses semolina and therefore contains gluten.

Which dishes are vegan?

Plenty. Vegetable Samosa, Gobi Manchurian, Onion Bhaji, Medhu Vada, Pani Puri, Bel Puri, Fries, Mazala Fries, all plain & mazala dosas (excluding ghee & paneer), Onion / Veg Supreme Uthappam, Plain Idli, Sambar Idly and Veg Kola Curry are all vegan. Use the “🌱 Vegan” filter above to see them.

Is your coconut chutney safe for tree‑nut allergies?

Coconut is botanically a fruit but is classified as a tree nut by UK food law. People with tree‑nut allergies are usually not allergic to coconut, but if in doubt, please ask — we serve other chutneys.

Can you do nut‑free curries?

Many of our curries (Andhra Lamb, Chicken Biriyani, Lamb Biriyani) are naturally nut‑free. Coconut/coconut milk curries (Chettinad Chicken, Malabar Prawn, Veg Kola) contain coconut. Always tell us when ordering.

What about cross‑contamination?

Our kitchen handles all 14 allergens daily. We change utensils, wash boards and use dedicated tools where possible — but we’re not an allergen‑free environment. If your allergy is severe, please call ahead (01452 000 000) and we’ll discuss what’s safest for you.
